Ta'amu got some good work in before ceding the second half to backup Mike DiLiello as head coach Shannon Harris looked to keep his top signal-caller healthy ahead of the postseason. Ta'amu kept his season-long streak of games with at least one touchdown pass alive with a 44-yard scoring toss to Cornell Powell to cap off DC's first drive of the contest, and with his solid half of production, he eclipsed the 2,000-yard mark for the second time in his spring career after also having done it with the USFL's Tampa Bay Bandits in 2022. Ta'amu will likely play on just a handful of series in the Defenders' regular-season finale against the Battlehawks in the nation's capital Friday night.
