Konigsdorffer joined Hamburger from Dresden and immediately joined the starting rotation at striker with Davie Selke and Robert Glatzel. Konigsdorffer was the second most efficient behind Selke, who is now out of contract. With that in mind Konigsdorffer and Glatzel could get the chance to lead the line in the top flight next season.
