Quick turnaround, new opponent
LightweightUFC
June 2, 2025
Mederos will take on Mark Choinski in a lightweight matchup at UFC 316 on Saturday, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Mederos was originally scheduled for a scrap against Bolaji Oki at UFC Vegas 107 on May 31, but he was pulled from that bout for undisclosed reasons (Oki went on to defeat Michael Aswell on that card). It turns out the withdrawal of Mederos wasn't due to health concerns, as he'll fight just a week later against a UFC newcomer. Choinski is undefeated as a pro, competing primarily under the Anthony Pettis-ran promotion in Milwaukee.

Out for UFC Vegas 107
LightweightUFC
May 28, 2025
Mederos (undisclosed) will not fight Bolaji Oki at UFC Vegas 107 on Saturday, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
It is unclear why Mederos is out for UFC Vegas 107. He was scheduled to fight Oki, who will instead compete against Michael Aswell. Mederos will have to wait to better establish himself after a close decision win in his last fight.
Taking on Oki
LightweightUFC
May 2, 2025
Mederos will take on Bolaji Oki in a lightweight bout at UFC Vegas 107 on May 3, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Mederos will look to remain perfect in the UFC. Most recently, he took care of business against Austin Hubbard back in March winning that bout by split decision. His opponent Oki, meanwhile, is coming off a loss at the hands of Chris Duncan that dropped his UFC record to 1-1.
Barely gets past Austin Hubbard
LightweightUFC
March 29, 2025
Mederos defeated Austin Hubbard via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
This was a strange fight. Mederos, making just his second UFC appearance, was clearly the better man on the rare instances in which he was able to stay upright, but he spent more than half the bout (7:34) pinned to the mat by Hubbard. Mederos was on his way to dropping a decision before landing one huge elbow in the final frame which was enough to sway things in the eyes of two of the three judges. Mederos recently moved to Arizona to join the guys at the MMA Lab full-time, so we know he'll be getting elite training on a daily basis, but the Texas native has just 11 pro fights -- all against lower-level competition -- under his belt at age 28.
Steps in to face Hubbard
LightweightUFC
March 17, 2025
Mederos will take on Austin Hubbard in a lightweight bout at UFC Mexico on March 29, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Mederos will step in for Daniel Zellhuber after the latter pulled out for undisclosed reasons. It's a nice turn of events for the 28-year old, as after he won his UFC debut against Landon Quinones via unanimous decision, his next two fights were cancelled. Thus, it's nice for this bout to fall into his lap, but he'll have little time to prepare as it's a quick turnaround on March 29. He'll look to keep Hubbard on the losing side of the Octagon, as the lightweight fell to Alexander Hernandez via split decision back in October in his last bout.
Denver fight scrapped
LightweightUFC
July 8, 2024
The lightweight matchup at UFC Denver on July 13 between Mederos and Nazim Sadykhov has been canceled, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Mederos was originally filling in for this matchup as Chris Duncan dropped out, but the fight will instead just be scrapped from the UFC Denver card. Mederos has fought in just one UFC matchup in his career, beating Landon Quinones via unanimous decision back in February.
