Signs multi-year deal with LIV Golf

Ballester has signed a multi-year contract with LIV Golf and will be apart of Fireballs GC captained by Sergio Garcia, Ben Nuckols of AP News reports.

ANALYSIS
Ballester will make his professional debut this week at LIV Golf Virginia. As a result of the move, Luis Masaveu will move to a reserve role, but will be active at LIV Virginia with David Puig nursing a back injury. Ballester is the reigning U.S. Amateur champion and will also be in the field next week at the U.S. Open at Oakmont. He finished his senior season at Arizona State No. 3 in the PGA Tour University standings. Instead of accepting Korn Ferry Tour membership, Ballester elected to go in a different route and join some of his fellow Spaniards with the Fireballs. LIV Golf continues to invest heavily in going after young players who are more likely to give up any PGA Tour membership right out of college in return for a guaranteed money from the breakaway tour.
