Thorne was one of five wideouts released by Ottawa in the final round of roster cuts Saturday. Thorne went undrafted in the 2025 CFL Draft, but the 6-foot-2, 175-pound wideout logged 159 receptions for 1,949 yards and nine touchdowns while enrolled at Wilfrid Laurier University.
