2025 Fantasy Outlook
The White Sox traded for Soroka last offseason and put him in their Opening Day rotation, but the results were disastrous, with the righty holding a 6.39 ERA and 24:24 K:BB over 43.2 frames covering nine starts. He was shifted to the bullpen at that point and took off, collecting a 2.75 ERA and 60:20 K:BB across 36 innings the rest of the way. The 27-year-old did miss time in the second half with a shoulder issue, but he looked dominant after returning in September. Soroka ditched his sinker in favor of a four-seamer in relief and also got whiffs with his slider at nearly a 50 percent rate. Even after the right-hander's success out of the bullpen, the Nationals signed him over the offseason to be a starter. The odds that he'll hold up physically and perform well in the rotation aren't high, but Soroka is still young enough that perhaps he can pull it off. Read Past Outlooks

Gets plenty of support in win
Soroka (2-3) allowed four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three over 5.1 innings to earn the win Saturday over the Diamondbacks.
ANALYSIS
The Nationals put up 10 runs before Soroka threw a pitch, so he was able to work without much pressure. It wasn't all that effective of an outing, but he did enough to take care of business and earn his second win in the last three starts. This was the third start in a row in which he's pitched into the sixth inning. Soroka has a 5.81 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 28:6 K:BB over 31 innings through six starts this season.

Soroka broke out with Atlanta in 2019 when he was an All-Star and the runner-up for NL Rookie of the Year, but injuries have wiped out the better part of the last four seasons. He tore his right Achilles in August of 2020 and suffered a complete re-tear of the same tendon less than a year later. While the right-hander was expected to be a full go last spring, he went down early with a hamstring injury and ended the season on the injured list with forearm inflammation, making only seven appearances (six starts) for the major-league club in between and struggling to a 6.40 ERA. His numbers at Triple-A Gwinnett were highly respectable (3.41 ERA, 1.07 WHIP), but regardless Atlanta decided to move on in the offseason, trading Soroka to the White Sox in the Aaron Bummer deal. Still just 26 years old, Soroka will attempt to stay healthy and revitalize his career, perhaps as a member of the starting rotation.

Garners interest from Detroit
The Tigers are interested in Soroka, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
ANALYSIS
It would seem the Tigers are interested in signing Soroka to be a starter. Somewhat surprisingly, it's been reported that more teams would want to use Soroka in the rotation rather than the bullpen even after he posted a 6.39 ERA in the former role and 2.75 ERA in the latter role in 2024 with the White Sox.
